Press release: "50 years of the 1972 Olympic assassination" - commemoration of the victims

"Twelve Months - Twelve Names: 50 Years of the 1972 Munich Olympics Attack" - this is the title of the 2022 commemorative year. To commemorate the twelve victims in a very special way 50 years after the terrible events, the focus will be on one victim each month.
Coordinated by the Jewish Museum Munich and the Nazi Documentation Center Munich, various institutions from the Fürstenfeldbruck district also participate in the special remembrance work.
In February, the murdered police officer Anton Fliegerbauer is commemorated. A photo of Anton Fliegerbauer will be projected onto the police headquarters building in Ettstraße in Munich. Also in February, there will be a lecture at the Fürstenfeldbruck police academy. The program includes a speech by the bereaved and a lecture on the police lessons learned from the Olympic bombing.
In March, the Jexhof Farm Museum is dedicating an outdoor exhibition to weightlifter Ze'ev Friedman.
Eliezer Halfin takes center stage in May. As a supplement to the exhibition "September 5, 1972 - The End of the Cheerful Munich Games", information about the life of the freestyle wrestler will be provided at the Fürstenfeldbruck District Office.
The Historical Association for the City and County of Fürstenfeldbruck e. V. commemorates the weightlifter Yossef Romano with a memorial tournament in June.
The Fürstenfeldbruck Museum will commemorate wrestler Mark Slavin in September as part of the "Olympia 1972" exhibition.
In November, students of Graf Rasso Gymnasium will remember the referee Yakov Springer.
The program for the monthly commemorations is constantly updated and can be viewed at www.lra-ffb.de and https://muenchen1972-2022.de. In addition, 15 artists of the artists' association FFB work on the theme: "50 years of the Olympic assassination 72". The exhibition will take place from 03.09. to 25.09.2022 in the Kulturwerkstatt HAUS 10.
