Educational work
From the outset, the aim was to use the digital memorial for educational purposes. One of the main target groups are teenagers and young adults who did not witness the attack.
At school
The website and app of the digital place of remembrance are very well suited for use in school lessons. There are numerous thematic points of reference in the school subjects of politics and history, and pupils can also work with the texts, images and videos on the website and the app regardless of time and place. The district has commissioned two didactic concepts that are based on the curriculum for secondary schools in Bavaria and are intended to serve as a guide for teachers.
The two concepts have different approaches: Concept 1 works with individual lessons and focuses on the digital place of remembrance. Concept 2 offers flexible modules and lots of additional information about the 1972 Olympic bombing.
On site in Fürstenfeldbruck
In addition to using the digital memorial site in school lessons, the project team also organizes events and app tours for groups on site at the airbase.
Please note: Visits to the airbase are currently only possible with a guided tour and prior registration in cooperation with the Bundeswehr.

Public guided tours of the exhibition "September 5, 1972 - The End of the Serene Games of Munich", including an app tour, take place approximately twice a year for interested citizens of the district.

Cooperations
Due to the thematic scope of the 1972 Olympics, project work with interested parties from all age groups is also possible beyond the school. Museums, universities, extracurricular educational organizations and media institutions are also possible cooperation partners for educational work.
